Favourite backing vocals?

Recommended Posts

Inspired by the Iceman thread and in particular the haunting backing vocals on the last couple of verses, I thought I'd give some props to this often overlooked area. I think that this is a major strength on E Street (but also Other Band , Sessions etc.) and wondered what the rest of you think. So, let's hear some of your favourite moments. There's quite a big range to choose from - anthemic (e.g. No Surrender), beautiful (e.g. Drive all Night), haunting (e.g. Stolen Car) to raucous (anything with SVZ!). Oh and Patti :P (joking - she's great).

Was gonna say the same thing.  I think Michelle Moore is great for power as well.

Maybe.  Specifically, I"m referring to MTV "Un"plugged.

Cindy on the live versions of shackled and drawn

Don't die of shock - Patti, Soozie and the Liza Lowell  and also i think Cindy from the SS tour - these ladies were the first i thought of when i read the thread (sorry Curtis)

The best thing about this tour and band and why I'd go see them if the next album is so far inclined

Everybody on IISFB from LINYC

Same as for out in the street

And as already mentioned a shut out to Soozie from the Magic tour

Id like more duets with her please

Honorable mention to Michelle More and Bobby King

and also all the back up singers from unplugged

I didn't fully appreate them at first but after watching 20 feet from stardom i started to get what Bruce was doing with them

Well, these aren't really backing vocals.

That like saying Tom Morello sings backing vocals on TGOTJ. It's more of shared lead vocals.

Love all the backing on this. Especially the falsetto stuff from one of the 'Horns of Love' (sorry, can't remember the name - the trumpet player?).
