dr winston oboogie
Daisey, I do not know if you heard about this or not, but with the call for people to stand at their front doors at 8pm last night and applaud these heroes, in Scotland we were asked to also play Scotland The Brave on the bagpipes at the same time, very emotional it was too. There is a short video here of pipers in various locations, hope you are able to view it : - https://www.pressandjournal.co.uk/fp/news/highlands/2121610/video-pipers-belt-out-scotland-the-brave-across-the-north-and-north-east-as-thousands-show-appreciation-for-key-workers/ 1 4

Popular Post newcastle roy
I've always turned to a Bruce Springsteen song or songs to help me through whatever crap life chucks my way. I started this thread as i was listening to Land Of Hope and Dreams and the lines.. "Tomorrow there'll be sunshine and all this Darkness Past"....always mean so much to me and always help me. But... i dunno why but this last few weeks and this weekend especially i have listened to Moonlight Motel more times i should really tell. Dunno why as the words in the song are not really anything to do with this damn fuckin' virus that is taking so many people from this earth before their time. I don't want this song to remind me of such a terrible time, but i just can't stop listening to it..soba or drunk. Maybe it's Bruce's voice in Moonlight Hotel, maybe it just gives me the comfort i need right now or is it just me being a daft Geordie clot? I don't want "Moonlight Motel" to turn into another "Factory" for me, i love that song but reminds me to much of my dad. Does anyone else feel like i do ? about certain songs ? ....and Greasy Lakers are still and always be the very best people in the world keep on staying safe...nee cuddles or high fives btw 9
berlintramp
A virtual hug must be allowed. ^^^^ For some reason I keep listening to numerous versions of Jungleland, with or without Clarence. Must be the jungle in my mind... 2
whispered secret
You are getting a virtual hug from me too, like it or not! I remember when Mr J's mum was dying with cancer, he wouldn't play any music going to and from the hospital because he didn't want any song to remind him of that time, so I understand what you mean. Of course, it often can't be helped, songs are always the things which take me instantly back to places and people.
frat415
I found this place close to 20 years ago and for long while spent a lot of time here and made some long life friends. To all of my Bruce friends - be safe and look after yourself and your loved ones. Times like these usually have lasting impact on things. Just like when this place was created for us. So lets rejoice for what we have and stay the course. Its all we can do. Be safe 8
