Bruce on Elvis Costello 2009

Sorry if posted before, but this came up in my YouTube browsing. I hadn’t seen it before and thoroughly enjoyed. Unique version of Galveston Bay with Roy on organ.

This was an excellent show. Bruce also sang Wild Billy's Circus Song with just Nils and Roy accompanying him. I've always thought he should have done the Devil's and Dust tour with these two helping him out. You would still have had the intimacy of a solo tour, but with more variation to the songs. And it would just have been nice seeing them interact with each other.

Would’ve loved to see that, and luckily one of the things its not yet too late for, even after we’ve got another full blown E Street Tor, whenever circumstances permits.

Thanks for this. I loved it when it came out and it was good to see again. For me this lays to rest any argument that Bruce is best served by the E Street Band in whatever form. This suppleness and muscularity of this collection - especially the rhythm section which gives Nils particularly room to move - is superb.

Wasn't there some sort of rehearsals for the Tunnel tour with this line up?

There were rehearsals for Devils and Dust with - I believe - Nils, Danny, and Soozie.

That's a real shame that didn't happen. Would have loved to see Danny, in particular there. His accordian would have been a great addition.

Imagine Across The Border with the two of them, like on the (rehearsal?) You Tube clip.

It would have been truly amazing. I love the 1986 show with Nils and Danny. There's something about acoustic guitars and the accordion working together, it sounds like a symphony.
