Many picks from folks have been so overplayed for me, Free Bird for example, that I can't really list a lot of the same but this is a gem of all gems.

Thunder Road

Alone With You - The Sunnyboys

Flame Trees - Cold Chisel

Hello in There - John Prine

Greetings to the New Brunette - Billy Bragg

Heavy Heart - You am I

Sir Duke - Stevie Wonder

There She Goes - The La's

June Hymn - The Decemberists

And the Band Play Waltzing Matilda - Eric Bogle

Honourable mentions to Basket Case, Southern Accents, Superfreak, Superman's Song, Glycerine, Both Sides Now, Deeper Water, Ghost Ships, Anchorage and Whaling. You all thought I was going to include Throw Your Arms Around Me, but that would be too predictable.

And the Band played Waltzing Matilda could be in my list too.

Ok, I have mine. Following rules apply - one song per musician with no double dipping across different project because that's cheating, and no Bruce at all because that's stupid. Because what's the point? The whole list would be Bruce songs if one of them is allowed, so no. Forget it. In no particular order:

The Horrible Crowes - Blood Loss

Social Distortion - I Was Wrong

Dropkick Murphys - The State of Massachusetts

Little Steven - I've Been Waiting

U2 - With or Without You

Johnny Cash - Hurt [cover]

The Clash - Spanish Bombs

Leonard Cohen - The Partisan [cover]

Nobuo Uematsu - Main Theme of Final Fantasy VII

Creedence Clearwater Revival - Who'll Stop the Rain?

My man! Best game of all time and a remake that somehow does it justice. Haven't quite finished it yet but I know it's going to be a long...however long it's going to be, waiting for the next installment. I'm feeling like a kid again.

Great thread... In no particular order (and taking the "most influential on my life" rather than "favourite by the artist" approach)

Thunder Road

Human - The Music

Supper's Ready - Genesis

Motorcycle Emptiness - Manic Street Preachers

Out of the Darkness - Little Steven and the Disciples of Soul

Steel River - Chris Rea

Finish What We Started - Headway

Hoppípolla - Sigur Rós

Misplaced Childhood - Marillion

Solitaire - Andy WIlliams

And that's missing out about another 20 that got written down, then replaced!

Is anyone else out there thinking there’s been some good lists out there, but at the end of the day my own is definitely the best?

Don’t feel bad about feeling that way. It’s Okay. For the record it is the best, but yours isn’t too shabby either.

Some lists By others could be better because it includes songs you love but forgot when making your own list.

And then, we all have 'guilty pleasures'.

Good shout.

Still it done my list. Was all set to narrow it down today.....but a friend who is in a rather severe and lonely Spanish lockdown suggested we do our top ten novels....so been thinking about that instead. Got til 10.00 tomorrow morning. I will then post on here ( in appropriate place )...and then do top 10 tunes.
