It needs more from The River in general. That is my favorite summer album.

Is not WIESS Bruce Springsteen's ultimate Summer album? (and Seaside Bar Song is from the same era too).

There was a topic a few years ago about (fictional) Bruce Springsteen Summer setlists.

Except Girls In Their Summer Clothes, there is also Summer On Signal Hill. Other Bruce Springsteen songs with summer in the title? Or other Bruce Springsteen songs with a season in the title? (Winter Song the only one I can think of now). (And Summertime Blues as a non-Bruce Song).

Should Paradise By The 'C' not be on the list too?

Frankie from 2016, not the sublime 2012 version we got two Archive releases ago.

Bruce & Co should be directed to @Paolo's Circus Storydefinitive versions blog before they put these lists together.

Agree with Sherry being a strange omission for a list of summer songs also.

Aside from that, reasonably solid list. This and the previous covers playlist have been my favourites in the series.

While I own virtually all the true 'Archive' Nugs releases, I only have a scattering of 2014 shows (mainly Aus) and only three or four from 2016/2017 so it's great to hear some versions of songs on these playlists from those two tours that I've never heard before.

I always associate BITUSA with summer.  A little weird there's nothing from it on here, but The Fever is an excellent choice here among others.

The Summer of 1985, when Bruce's music was everywhere.

The music of the biggest and most popular rock star in the world [in 1985].

......

Should I say, welcome back on the Lake, Draconian? Where have you been? All well?

Thanks Lampi!  It has been quite a while.  Truth be told, I don't have a good story about where I ran off to.  I've still been lurking from time to time (mainly to see what reactions were to the archive releases), but always told myself I'd get back to posting when the next tour came around.  Sadly, that's taken a while and looks not to change any time soon.  I really should've come back when the album came out last year (because it's wonderful and ripe for discussion), but last summer was a really busy time for me, especially when it was released.  Anyway, I'm glad that I decided to log in for the first time in a log time tonight, and hopefully am here again to stay.  Good to see some familiar faces and some new ones too.  I hope you've been well.

Backstreets should be on there for sure. After all it begins, “One soft infested summer...”

Can a native speaker please explain what kind of summer a soft infested one is?

It's been over 30 years, and I'm still not sure. It sounds negative, but then it's soft...

My kids made a family summer playlist today. That was the first song to go on.

I’ve never heard the term used outside this song to be honest. I think Bruce made it up :D. I interpret it to mean a humid or sultry summer.
