A Bruce with strings arena setlist

Recommended Posts

Ok here’s the criteria. Bruce is to play Arenas with a string section. He is going to play shorter than usual shows and a 20 song fixed setlist. What do you choose? Up to you whether ESB members are on tour or not.

Here’s mine in no particular order:

NYC Serenade

John Henry

Blinded By The Light (SSB tour version)

Western Stars

Racing In The Street

I am The Hunter of Invisible Game

How Can A Poor Man Stand Such Times And Live?

Jack of All Trades

Stones

The River (SSB tour version)

Incident on 57th Street

Maria’s Bed

Tucson Train

Further On (Up the Road) SSB version

Jesse James

Devils Arcade

Chasin’ Wild Horses

American Land

Born to Run (‘88 style solo acoustic)

Thunder Road (solo acoustic)

Incident On 57th Street should be the opening song, not NYC Serenade.

Should Jungleland not be on the setlist too? And I Want You? (but I Want You was way back then with Suki-maybe should not try to re-invent that with Soozie (not because of Soozie but because some things are better left in the Main Point 1975 past)).

Any solo song would be disqualified by your definition of playing with strings, right?

Also, I think “Secret Garden” (version with strings) would be a nice addition

Yes, I see now, that's why there is also no main set and encore. Thank you!

Secret Garden is never a nice addition, with or without strings.

Come on Dan, excluding instruments isn't very rock and roll!

I prefer my Bruce no strings attached.

Except guitar strings, of course.

Stepping away from the spirit of inclusion for a moment, the only strings I really need are on the piano.

Maybe for an encore he could play Thunder Road with a kazoo orchestra?

id like him to play some of the older songs that he would have liked to have had strings on, but couldn't afford to back in the BTR days

like an alternitive universes

I saw The Who last year at the Hollywood Bowl with a full orchestra behind them and it was incredible. The girl playing the Violin stole the show, especially on Baba O’Riley. I could see Bruce making it work but hopefully keep it a rocking show like The Who did.
