Unless you count the black and white video of Bruce playing the song acoustically on the video screens after the shows.  (Not my favorite version!)

It’s a damn good song lost a bit in a really good album but appears better when compared to what he’s put out in the last 15 years or so.

It's ok. Not one of my favourites on the Rising to be honest.

Quite liked the acoustic version.

It was not originally a stand out for me on The Rising, as it did not have the " "historical" significance of most of the other songs. It is one of the first I go to on the album now. A classic example of a Bruce song with an up tempo tune and downbeat lyrics.

Not a fan of any version of it. Can't put my finger on why. Could be the weakness of the chorus.

I've got a confession to make.

My Rising CD stopped working a while ago, and I haven't downloaded the album.

I had to check the lyrics, to actually remember how it goes.

I'll listen to the acoustic version later, I haven't heard it before.

Excellent song and a great version of it was played (albeit it sounds like from the bootleg, it was played during a hurricane) during a soundtrack on the Reunion tour - was it Bremen?

Anyway, top song.

Not a big fan of the studio or live band versions, but the piano version on the D&D tour...wow.

Always liked Countin' On A Miracle, and the extended acoustic intro by Nils.

I think the live version however, would have worked better more/louder guitars in the mix and less synths/keyboards.

The piano version played on the D&D tour is just fantastic, esp the middlepart when he moves from the grand piano to the electric piano to great effect.

Wasn't that an early version of Waitin' On A Sunny Day?

Agree that it sounded good although it could benefit from a better recording.

Not my favourite version either, at all. I do love the rock version, though!

It's the acoustic version on the 3-cd "The Essential Bruce Springsteen" that is my favourite - the delicacy of the guitar and pining falsetto vocal in the song pinpoint how fragile that hoped for miracle is, to my ears.

I like the full band version and it fits within the context of "The Rising" cd, but it is the one above that hits home since it lets the song's stripped-back lyricism pierce to the heart through being more exposed, especially with the singer being alone and sounding so vulnerable.

Please forgive me, but I have to get this right.

I listened to the album version (which reminded me why I had entirely forgotten about this song, mostly because of the lame lyrics)

I listened to the Essential version (which is awful, and I love acoustic Bruce)

I listened to the D&D version (which is OK, but nothing mind-blowing)

I listened to the live version posted above, with the very lovely Nils' intro (the intro being the best part)

What else should I be doing? :P
