The two sports I have most interest in:

Football: Bryan Robson, Eric Cantona, Socrates (Brazil ‘82), C.Ronaldo, Scholes.

Cricket: Clive Lloyd, Viv Richards, Joel Garner, Ian Botham, Ben Stokes.

Fav teams:

Football:

United (94 double and 99 treble)

Brazil 1982 World Cup.

Cricket:

Lancashire mid/late 80’s.

West Indies mid 1980’s.

Absolutely spot on with the Brazil 82 and Windies shout.

I’d probably pick Marshall over big bird and Zico and Eder nudge out Socrates as my favourite from the Brazil side.

As a young lad in the early 80’s, these two international teams still remain the greatest I have ever seen in terms of talent and being brilliant to watch. Never been bettered for me since. The names still roll off the tongue when I discuss their greatness.

#4 on the greatest list should be Jimmie.

Kinda surprised that Dale Sr isn't #5 on your favorites list.

From a time when sport was all free to air and you didn't have to be a rich man's daughter to follow a rich man's son's sport

What i loved about formula one is i had zero pressure or obligation to like or follow anyone because of where they were born

It was about talent and engines ( teams maybe) but it had nothing to do with nationality

My mum and dad didn't know where it came from and none of my freinds or workmates followed it

I just love the sound of formula one

I felt a refreshing freedom in it not involving NZ - although we have produced a few good drivers in the past eg Bruce McLaren, Danny Hulme, Chris Aamon - but all before my time

It was just so exotic -most of those drivers were from countries that didnt play cricket or didnt play rugby, i could like who i wanted to like

And i just cannot stress again, how hot a man is in a boiler suite is !
