Also, in other good NFL news, the @JudgeBrown 49ers won big in New England, the Dallas Cowboys got beat again scoring only 3 points against the Washington football team formally known as the Redskins.

Not all NFL news today was good, Tom Brady and Tampa Bay picked up the win in Las Vegas.  I don't know but will guess that Tommy Boy is banned from the casinos since he is a known cheater.

Only 3 of those playoff wins have come in the last 10 years, so overall his record looks good, but if you look at it as what have you done lately it isn't that great. I can't remember the exact s

If the season ended now the Eagles at 1-2-1 would host either the Bears or Rams who are both 3-1.

Pittsburgh just knocked off Baltimore to improve to 7-0.  Up next for them is a game at Dallas where the Cowboys may be starting a rookie 3rd string QB if Andy Dalton is not back from the concussion he got last week.  I'm not saying that it will be an easy game but on paper it looks easier than the game last week when the beat an undefeated Titans team and the game today where they beat Baltimore on the road with the Ravens only loss being against the Super Bowl Champion Chiefs.

Coming up next is the Sunday night game with the Cowboys and Eagles.  The Eagles lead the NFC East at 2-4-1 and the Cowboys are 1/2 back at 2-5.

Both teams have several starters out with the Cowboys being down to the 3rd string QB who is a rookie picked in the 7th round of the draft.

On paper it doesn't look like high quality football.

Will I be watching?

Since it is likely the Cowboys will lose the answer to that question is of course.  It is always nice to see the Cowboys lose.

Somebody is going from the outhouse to the penthouse.

The Steelers have traded for LB Avery Williamson & the New York Jets seventh-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft in exchange for their fifth-round pick in the 2022 NFL Draft.

The trade will be official after Williamson passes a physical.

I saw a video of him riding to the airport, he seemed quite happy.

Am I the only one thinking my New England Patriots would be best served with the back up Brian Hoyer for the remainder of the season?  Sure he's not Mr. Touchdown like Brady but after the dismal Newton and hapless Stidham, would it hurt?

Too early to say who's going to the superbowl, I would have chosen Tampa but after being humiliated by New Orleans twice, I have my doubts.  Perhaps Pittsburg vs. Kansas City in the AFC championship, I'll give kansas the momentum with wunderkid Mahomes over the bendable bound to lose sometime Steelers.

if this does come down to Tampa vs Kansas City / Pittsburg in Tampa, it's the first time in NFL history the superbowl is also the home field of a team from that city?  Tampa in Tampa?  Can you for  a second imagine the humilation if Brady loses at home?

I like Buffalo but believe they/d fall short in a playoff game against Kansas City and would put up a good fight against Pittsburg.  Jimmy James, unless the sun goes out, it's Pittsburg at home vs. Kansas City AFC championship the way it looks now.

Well sure if the season ended today. But my prediction is the end of the season. And I'm 3 1/2 drive either way to KC or Indy.

Fun game to watch, maybe a little nerve racking if one of the teams is your team.

Yep, sometimes you wonder what goes though some of these coaches heads. At the end of the regulation. Why didn't the Colt run the ball three times? Why throw the ball, incomplete pass, time left on the clock?

That is something that bugs me every time I see it happen.  I know they have probably worked it out and the "best" play is to throw a pass for a better chance to get a first down.  But if you don't complete the pass the other team doesn't have to take a timeout to stop the clock, if they don't call the timeout then you can run 30+ seconds off the clock.  So your best case is getting the 1st down for another set of downs with will allow you to run out the clock and your best chance of getting the 1st down is with a pass.  But the downside is you just gifted the other team 30+ seconds and saved them a timeout.  I would go with what would make it tougher on the other team if the play doesn't work and that is a running play that runs more time off the clock.

The Jets are the 1st team to be eliminated from the playoffs.

If the Steelers beat the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday and both the Miami Dolphins and Las Vegas Raiders lose, Pittsburgh would clinch a spot this week.

I just saw that the Steelers/Ravens game has been moved from Thursday night to Sunday.  The article had tweets from a few Steeler players who weren't happy with the move.  Not that they need any extra motivation when playing the Ravens but I hope the game is a blowout by the Steelers.  Well, OK, I would hope for that even if the game wasn't moved.
