Do you still listen to your bootlegs ?

Recommended Posts

With the 'Bootleg Collectors Corner' going strong I was wondering how many of us still listen to our bootleg shows in the wake of the Archive Series.

I used to have around 300 bootleg shows but there are only a handful I return to.

  • Sean McNeill changed the title to Do you still listen to your bootlegs ?

Besides the archives I play often the shows where I went to, outtakes albums and IEM or soundboard recordings.

For the longest time i only had Mr Crystal Cat's winterland - that bonus 3rd disk has the best version of The Promise on

I played that for years and years

Im in love with the 78 intro

Then that mp3 player wore out but lucky i got it again just before the nugs version came out (that i also have)

In the past i have purchased the odd bootleg because i wasn't clever enough to download

My Moncton show, main point, Freehold, Joad from  royal albert hall - a couple of videos

Being audience souced saddly Moncton is the worst quality:(

With the exception of Winterland, once nugs release a show i see no reason to return to an old boodleg

(Winterland is just such a big part of my Bruce journey ill never give it up in its orgional form)

My dream is to have every single prove it with the 78 intro

But im technology challenges / retarded :( so i have to bied my time and wait for Gary's eyes to get better so i can fully participate on the bootleg thread

I don't do shuffle and i like to listen to the same album or show for many weeks at a time so im buggard if i know how they listen to all their bootlegs

I never listen to bootlegs again, and I gave most of them away, and when I feel like listening to a concert, I listen to a record from the archive series, and in the 1970s and 1980s they charged absurd prices for a bootleg and in most cases the quality was not very good either.

Yes... but nowhere near as many as I used to. In the past year I think I've only played Boston 1977, Seattle 1978, Philadelphia 1980, Stockholm/Los Angeles 1981, East Troy 1984, Brixton 1996, Atlanta 2000, Wembley 2003, New York City 2003, Paris/London 2007, Philadelphia 2009 and Paris/Boston 2012 in full.
