The Middle... Bruce in a Superbowl commercial

Recommended Posts

Saw this documentary on Neflix about a year ago. Because of the striking title saw it again yesterday.

As a writer and reporter, Joan Didion can be considered as the sister in arms of Springsteen, telling relevant and personal stories from the 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's througth the 21st century, being in California or New York

The Center: the documentary mentions Joan Didion’s opening lines to her essay “Slouching Towards Bethlehem,” in which she reports on the Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco during the “cold late spring” of 1967, a half-century ago. To describe the experience, she takes a line from W.B. Yeats’s poem “The Second Coming” — “Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold; / Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world” — that leans on a metaphor of something like gravity or centrifugal force.

The phrase, and the essay, is an apt introduction to a writer convinced that the center is disintegrating more every day, and that our lives are often futile attempts to grasp for it, just a little longer.

To live through the last years has required girding oneself daily against a rising sense of panic. Everything is on its head. Every day, a fresh assault on reality, the feeling that gravity is no longer a sure thing. Reality itself seems to be merely fiction. Maybe that is where Springsteen is refering to with The Middle ...

Interesting article @Jimmy James @BrilliantDisguise our Jeep was a TJ (Tough jeep) with a straight 6

They are saying they are holding their price and are going for almost what they were new

A YJ (yuppy jeep) had the square headlights like MacGyver had, was the model before

I wondered if any one would comment on that

I don't see the problem

Its a huge compliment having a Jeep named after you, especially when its top of their line, there is absolutely nothing disrespectful in that - unless they want to claim intellectual property rights to the name ???

A while back here Holden (GM) ditched their long used (one ton) Rodeo ute name because Rodeos get so much bad press these days -  although that may also have been influenced by Isuzu parting ways with GM because now you get the drop dead gorgouse Isuzu  D-max  or the GM Colorado

If i won lotto (i don't buy tickets) id buy a  brand new D-Max and a used Jeep TJ like Daisey was

Jeep should rename the vehicle after the city of Cherokee, Iowa.

And the Democrats have 1.4 million great ideas and another 11,000 great ideas.

BTW: GOP did have a platform: America First!

We've come a long way from the 1920's, No?

Talking about the KKK in the 1920's "In the South, most members were Democrats. In the North (such as in Indiana), most were Republicans, though Milwaukee had a fairly large Socialist membership."
