1. His lawyer will plead it down to some lesser offense 2. Pay huge fine 3. Have to get SR22 Car insurance $$$$$$ 4. Lose his license for 30 days

5. Not a fine (as that is indeed, as was said, probably 'a drop in the ocean' for him), but do some community service? (You get up every morning at the sound of the bell, to do some good works).

6. Do some education (make video [not sponsored by Jeep] of how stupid he was, about the dangers of DWI, that DWI is a crime, 'don't be as stupid as me')?

7. Go to meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous? (a corona-proof meeting, that is).

Money will have nothing to do with this. Unless things have changed since a buddy got one a couple years ago. Maybe @judyg or @JudgeBrown could help out here!

That for anyone, once the DUI is in the system there's no turning back.

Don't know how accurate this web site is but here is what purports to be a summary of consequences for first time DWI in NJ.

Because the offense is in a National Park, it is a Class B Misdemeanor. Punishable by 6 month loss of license and could get up to 6 months in a Federal Prison.

It’s why his court appearance is in Federal Court in Newark and not a local Monmouth County Municipality

Alcohol is the devil juice. This + hitching his wagon to the Democrats is further proof that Bruce has strayed from the path of our lord Jesus Christ

I'm away to listen to LTY in bed - as per usual.

Mind you, it's tempting to stay up and read replies to this. It'll keep til morning. G'night!

Hi @Daisey JeepWe are all well over here, and hope you and Gary are the same. I pop in every now and then to see what's happening.  Not much to talk about these days.  I saw the article in the NY Times and thought I'd see how The Lake was handling it.  Interesting reading...

Good night, I will check back when I can't sleep.

My view, my opinion, he either stopped to buy or had the alcohol with him, totally stupid, how far from home was he.

You know we used to go camping in this regional park

We often sat in the jeep with a bottle of port or a box of beers

We just do not know the details

Like in the fine print

Like those areas they make alchoal free to keep them family freindly

Or like on the train where you arnt allowed open booze

I just hope he is treated fairy and the same way as everyone else

Not made an example off and not let of any more lightly than any other first offender of good character

My heart breaks for Bruce today

Sweet little Borris knows something is wrong

She never comes inside, much less sits on the arm of my chair through the day

It is not as the DUI occurred in a National Park making it a Federal law and not NJ State Law
