Newcastle striker Yoshinori Muto is set to return to Japan to play for Vissel Kobe.

The two clubs have agreed a permanent deal that will bring to an end his three-year stay on Tyneside.

Muto joined from Mainz in 2018 for almost £10m but has failed to make an impact in the Premier League and spent last season on loan at Eibar in Spain.

The Japan international has scored just one Premier League goal in 25 appearances, and once for Eibar in La Liga last term.

Cristian Romero will fly to London in the next 24 hours to complete his move to Tottenham after Atalanta accepted their £47m offer.

The Serie A club have secured centre-back Merih Demiral from Juventus as his replacement today and subsequently fully agreed the deal for Romero to join Spurs.

Personal terms on a five-year deal are not expected to be a problem, with Romero keen to join Nuno Santo's squad.

City submitted their offer on Friday and it activated a £100m release clause in Grealish's Villa contract.

That's nice.  I understand that the delay in the formal confirmation of the transfer was that Grealish had forgotten to bring his crayons, with which to sign the contract.

So you didn't want him on your club any longer anyway? You guys got top dollar for an idiot!

Tottenham have signed Argentina defender Cristian Romero from Atalanta on a five-year deal.

The 23-year-old, who helped his country win the Copa America this summer, becomes the club's second most expensive player after joining in a deal worth up to £47million.

Romero arrived in the country on Thursday to complete his medical and will not have to isolate due to coronavirus restrictions because he is vaccinated, providing he returns a negative test on Saturday.

His signing represents a big coup for Tottenham, who have been after a marquee arrival to bolster their defence following the departure of Toby Alderweireld this summer.
