The Official Premier League 2021-22 thread

Recommended Posts

Seems like with the preseason up and running and the season start just two weeks away it is time to start the new season thread and ditch the old one. If a mod would be kind enough to do the pinning/unpinning that would be appreciated.

TGLITW to try and end the practice of players buying a penalty after 125 penalties awarded last season https://www.theguardian.com/football/2021/aug/02/var-set-to-end-premier-league-players-buying-a-penalty-next-season

Bruno Fernández reported to be distraught at this news

I think this is wrong, a foul is a foul is a foul. Doesn't matter where on the pitch it is. This will really hurt the smaller forwards (Sterling, Salah, Mane just to name a few) as they can get pushed off the ball easier then the bigger strikers, yet still be a foul in the box. Now if they dive then card them and move on.

my top four predictions

Chelsea( Lukaku may make the difference)

Man Utd ( big chance i think, good signings, but need Pogba through the middle)

Man city(need a 20 goal a season man)

Liverpool(stuttered last season again lack of signings)

relegation spots cant see past three promoted teams, but Palace and or Burnley may spoil that
