Backstreets/ Sad Eyes , Fox Theatre, Atlanta, Sept 1978..... wow!

Just like Prove It All Night and She's The One, the best ever version is from Atlanta.

Not from Winterland.

Prove It All Night, The Forum, Inglewood, 7/5/78, from the mono soundboard (video feed???) from Odds and Sods.

God I remember when that download was made on Backstreets from Flynn [with clear help/approval from Bruce Inc./JLM], that was so awesome. Too bad more probably won't be coming.

Just listened to/watched these three over on BTX. You've all probably seen them a thousand times before :wub:

Drive Fast (The Stuntman) - it still brings a lump to my throat to hear the humble and matter-of-fact delivery with which this story is told, and the music is so exquisitely well-judged. The underplayed devotion in the quietly delivered "I'll keep you in my heart" and the later twist, "keep me in your heart", when it isn't at all clear that he is thought of fondly enough for someone to do so - it hurts to imagine the poor fellow's life from these frank, spare details. I really could weep for "Figured maybe together we could get the broken pieces to fit" when it is delivered each time. Stoic and unassuming as the protagonist is, it brings the thought of lives of quiet desperation to mind, for sure.

I got the "Blinded By the Light" soundtrack on cd so I could finally hear 'I'll Stand By You", and found it very affecting, especially thinking of it forming as a song sung to soothe and settle a young child. I'll have to listen again, as closely as I can, because there aren't any lyrics in the booklet.

It's quite a contrast, coming after the full-throttle energy of "Born to Run" on the cd, isn't it?

"The River" from the Blinded By the Light soundtrack cd, as performed for No Nukes. The number of times I went to see No Nukes just to see Bruce and the E Street Band in performance:-)

And now "Thunder Road" from the BBtLight soundtrack, as performed live at the Roxy Theatre in 75 - oh my word:-)

"The Promised Land", live acoustic from The Concert for Valor, again from BBtLight soundtrack. It's repaid my investment in it with these live tracks:-)

"I'll Stand by You". What a nice promise that Bruce is giving his listeners through the chorus as well:-)

She's The One!!!:wub::wub::wub:

Philadelphia 6 October 2007.

1) How fresh this sounds, and how good it is, ike it is a song from the new album instead of a 33 year old song.

2) How good they are playing so early in the tour, only 3rd show of the tour.
