I couldn't enjoy it as much as when I was younger … but, yes, I do enjoy some programmes.

Are you doing anything special to celebrate Bruce's birthday?

well we had pizza and beer for tea- something we havn't done for ages

i also brought a packet of those American oreos (in lue of sprinkling sugar or my sugar pops this morning)

Do you celebrate the birthday of any other 'celebrity' other than Bruce ....(waiting for someone to say Jesus*)

*and then someone else will say Jesus isnt a celebrity (which is why i used those inverted comas)

I’m answering out of turn because why not. My best birthday was my 19th birthday.  It was 1976, and I went to my very first Bruce Springsteen concert.  it was actually the day after my birthday,

Port Grimaud, South of France.  August (?) 1983.  We decided to have a week there with another couple before our wedding in September.  Relax, get a bit of a tan etc .  We travelled by coach with Club

well i don't drive

ive always walked or biked or taken the train, and now because Gary is retired i get free bus rides around town between 9 and 3

plastic single use plastic bags are finally thankfully banned in NZ and we are all giving up straws

and im really really anti almonds because where they grow almonds in California is so dry and they need so much water to grow for the anount of nutrient one gets from an almond

it used to be bad to buy iceberg lettuce because it took 17lt of water but if a lettuce is grown somewhere where there is plenty of water like here in Wanganui i don't see a problem

by bug bear is actually ballons, one year we did clean up NZ at work down the Kenepuru stream (the stream that goes right  through the Tawa valley) mouth into Porirua harbour and the place was littered with the stupid ballons our meet and greeter gave out to the kids

ive always been a passonate recycler but we don't have kerb side collection for recyling here and honestly its all turned into a bit of a fiasco with Asian countries sending western recycling back

the whole thing is a mine feild, there are so many arguments for and aganist each case like our exports of beef and lamb need air miles to get to foreign markets but because our beef and lamb is grown outside on grass it uses alot alot alot less energy to produce and its also kinder for the animal

nothing is a cut and dried case

i guess the story is to really reduce packaging at sauce

i mean its redicoulss the fruit and veges that are packaged onto those black trays.

how do you feel about generically modified food ? (its illegal to grow or import GM crops here)

Do you think the current young generation (thinking especially of climate change activists) will be any more successful at changing the world than those of us who grew up in the 60's?

I'm by nature optimistic, the likes of Greta Thunberg lift  my hopes enormously. Her speech yesterday for me was inspirational from one so young yet so mature.

Do you worry for your grandchildren?

I have been to PM's Question Time in the House of Commons when Maggie was PM. I used to work in the Dept of Employment just down the road, so we were able to go, just once.

What do you think of the little Thunderbird girl (sorry, that's what I call her in my head) - you know, 'climate change'?

However well meaning, she comes across as a precocious brat.

Are you looking forward to the Abbey Road box at the end of this week?

I haven't seen enough of her to call her anything other than frightened, I'm happy to take more time.

I have to confess my apathy for Beatles more of.....but happy to be proved wrong.

How many album's do you buy per month?

see Gary was rabbit shooting when he had a heart attack - he thought it was adrenalin and then a strained muscle

when he really did strain a muscle he thought it was a heart attack

the paramedic had actually had a heart attack himself and we learnt more from him on the ride into Wellington hospital (no lights or sireins) than we did from anyone else

have you ever broken a bone ?
