Springsteen tour in doubt?

Cincinnati Post, 2002-11-07, by: Rick Bird
Springsteen launched an ambitious tour in August that will carry well into next year. After opening in the States, he played Europe in October and returned to the U.S. this week. His barnstorming will take him to well over 50 U.S. cities and more than 30 in Europe when the tour finally ends. His tri-state stops were to include Columbus (Saturday), Indianapolis (Sunday), Lexington (Nov. 14), as well as Tuesday's Cincinnati show. However, last Wednesday night's show in Austin was postponed as sax player Clarence Clemons had to be admitted to the hospital to undergo surgery for a detached retina. His condition was said not to be a serious one, but it has just been announced that the Springsteen shows in Columbus and Indianapolis have been cancelled, too.
