Doerthe Girgensohn wrote: After attending the first concert in Germany from The Rising-Tour in Ludwigshafen I couldn't await June 10. Unfortunately this would also be the last concert for me to see from this tour. The day was really hot, but I can tell you the evening was even hotter. When I arrived at 10:30 there were quite some fans already there. We spent the day waiting for the gates to open and at about 6:00 p.m. they did. Two hours later, Bruce finally entered stage and opened up with a terrific acoustic version of Born in the USA. The band joined him and The Rising, Lonesome Day, Jackson Cage (what a nice surprise), The ties that bind and My love will not let you down put everyone in a good rocking mood. Empty Sky and You're missing gave us time to breath and then it went on rocking the house. It was a well-done mixture between old and new songs, so I guess everybody should have enjoyed it. As far as I can judge it, Bruce enjoyed himself too. He was running up and down the stage, jumping onto the piano and sliding on his knees along the stage. The main set closed with Tenth Avenue freeze-out, one of my favourites. Of course he didn't leave by then, but came back for some more songs like Bobby Jean, Ramrod, Born to run, Seven nights to rock and finally Dancing in the Dark. This was the last song and after about 3 hours of great rock'n'roll music I was really done, but happy. Thank you for a fantastic evening. Hope to see you again soon!!!
