Tom Cantillon wrote: The best holiday show of the 3 and one of the best of even the previous years. Bruce and fellow artists were in top form all night.
The gospel choir, as always, were simply great. Although I'm not a big fan of The Wish, it was a very moving performance last night--beautifully done. Thundercrack was wild and great. Southside, have to love him--just a bundle of energy and a great sidekick for Bruce--they get so silly together.
Nils tour the roof off of the place with Because the Night--outstanding. But once again, the highlight of the evening was when Sam joined Bruce and they rocked some soul into some great, classic music. Something is Wrong with my Baby was heartbreakingly beautiful--hope there's a quality release of that one some time soon. The entire set with Sam was simply top quality. Soul Man and Thank You had the crowd dancing and singing along. Do a short tour, Sam and Bruce, it'll be great.
96 Tears was a nice surprise--very good. Kitty's Back--always intense. A terrific Merry Xmas Baby and a great set of soulful, hard-rocking encores between City of Ruins and What's so Funny.
It was spiritually satisfying to get another dose of Bruce. Hopefully, another tour will not be too far down the road. Happy Holidays--and thanks, Bruce, Max & others for 3 great nights, via Greetings From Asbury Park!
