I remember the night vividly. The unknown band was playing at Dickinson in their cafeteria with maybe at most 300-400 people.

I was in the front row close enough that I could have shook hands with the members of the E Street Band. They played level with the floor we were standing on so it felt really intimate.

Wow they blew me away and turned me into a fan from that night on. They only had their first two albums out so I heard all their best "street smart" rock with all the vivid lyrics. Can you say "Rosie come out tonight?".

The "Big Man" and Bruce were rippin it up. Their chemistry even in 1974 came across in a huge way.

What can I saw but it was a night I will never forget...

Michael Landis wrote: I was at this show . . . amazing is an understatement. My friends and I were seated on top of all the cafeteria tables that had been stacked in the rear so we had a great spot. There were maybe 200+ people there, Bruce & Co. were still relatively unknown, and they shook the roof off the place. Without intending any disrespect, this was the best concert I ever saw until Bob Marley and the Wailers at the Capital
Center a few years later and is still - 30+ years and many, many shows later - the (second) best concert I have ever seen.
