Andy wrote: What a stroke of luck: Brother's mate doing finals, so I got his ticket! Don't know if he passed, but who cares. First time of many times that I saw Bruce and was hooked forever. Bruce wasnot going to let anyone down: up on the piano, knee-sliding and pouring energy. Clarence was his usual charismatic self and Stevie was quietly stylish. Memories: Johnny Bye Bye (not long after Elvis' death so quite raw), Trapped which had me transfixed and Twist and Shout which really ended the set leaving you asking"can we go on all night?"
I am amazed no one else has commented on this show, it seems like yesterday!!!

Restricted my a*** Bruce up on the piano, turning our way, giving us a wave as he exited the stage underneath us. I'm getting goose bumps now thinking about it. I was just 18, it's been a long strange trip inbertween but boy what a ride.

Julie wrote: My first Springsteen concert ever! Had 'discovered' Bruce in Autumn 1980 just as he released 'The River' This show i will never forget. It shaped who I was and who I became (really it did!) 32 years later I still carry the memories of that night, the passion, the power, the hope for the future, the way Bruce seemed to identify with my craziness and disconnection from family around me, my rebelliousness and desire to live differently and 'find one face
That ain't looking through me....'Bruce was literally on fire and we felt that fire too burning through our veins. I don't think I've ever experienced a connection with an artist and the crowd like I did these nights at Wembley - I went to 3 shows here. To have a young and electric Bruce blast out Sherry Darling, Badlands, Thunder Road, Ramrod and Rosalita was so breathtaking.... the knee slide he did for Thunder Road and the jumping on and off the piano.... I could go on and on! Amazing introduction to life for me.
