November 29 will be a busy day for Clarence Clemons. At 1 PM he will sign his new album, recorded live at the Stone Pony in 2001, at the Antic Hay Books and SulliStudios in Asbury Park where there will also be a photo exhibition by Stone Pony staff photographer John Kavanaugh. One tour premiere and an accident that could have been serious. That's the quick sum up of last night's show in Greensboro. "Cadillac Ranch" was performed for the first time on the tour in the wild card slot before "Worlds Apart". But maybe "I'm Goin' Down" which was soundchecked earlier in the day would have been more appropriate. For the first time on the tour, the show did not start with the title track from The Rising. Instead Bruce opened his Cincinnati show with "American Skin" as his comment to a controversy in the city regarding police racism and dedicated it to "the people and organizations in the city that are working for a just Cincinnati and a just America". The "Lonesome Day" single slated for release on November 25 has had its track lineup changed since the first word of the single surfaced. Either that or it will be released in two different versions. Tomorrow night's show in Austin has been postponed and rescheduled to March 2, 2003. Clarence Clemons has been admitted to hospital to undergo surgery for a detached retina.
